Dahlia Workshop October 18th 10.30
We will discuss the ones I've found best for cutting, have the "overwintering in the ground or lifting" debate, chat about increasing your stock, look at staking to support your plants and I'll reveal my dahlia failures! You are very welcome then to go out into the plot and pick a bunch of these wonderfully varied and generous flowers to take home.
Tea, coffee and cake.
The Dutch masters were quite random in their choice of flowers for their masterpieces using flowers that wouldn't necessarily be in season together- tulips, chrysanthemums, roses, carnations and irises to name a few- although of course these Dutch growers are so clever, they may have managed this trick of nature. Do come along and have a go. We will be using a mix of seasonal flowers to recreate this look. I have some props to complete the picture ( literally) . Please bring a vase ( I would suggest about 10-12" high) and your camera and we will provide the rest. £40.00 a head to include delicious refreshments from the Eggs to Apples cafe.
