Workshops       2018

 Saturday March 24th 10.30-2.30

Tuesday March 27th   10.30-2.30

This workshop is aimed at those of you who want to grow flowers for the house or to give to friends, but don't want to deplete their gardens. We will discuss the no-dig method of creating beds, practised here at Blue Hen, what flowers are best for cut and come again, not forgetting biennials and successional sowing, and how to get the most from a small area. Everyone will have a choice of seeds to sow and will go home with some sown seed ready to get going on the next stage of your cut flower patch.  The day will include a light lunch and free flowing refreshments throughout the day. Please bring warm coats and wellies!

£70 a head.

Friday February 23rd

Want to take your business up a gear?  Are you keen to work more efficiently?  Do you want advice on the best use of Social media?

Then come to this workshop with Chloe Scragg of Executive Support Consultants.

Now a true 'company of one', she helps time starved freelancers and small businesses with limited resources to navigate their way through the myriad tools and systems available on the market in order to grow their businesses and reduce the feeling of being completely overwhelmed.

Chloe can share with you first hand experience and case studies of where to focus your energies, how to utilise your best skills, the importance of up-skilling, the need to find the proactive people to help you and which tools will aid your business, and which ones will waste your time.

If you are struggling to keep up with all that needs to be done come to an interactive morning with time to share experience and problems over coffee and cake with other wonderful small businesses

The Dutch masters were quite random in their choice of flowers for their masterpieces using flowers that wouldn't necessarily be in season together- tulips, chrysanthemums, roses, carnations and irises to name a few- although of course these Dutch growers are so clever, they may have managed this trick of nature. Do come along and have a go.  We will be using a mix of seasonal flowers to recreate this look. I have some props to complete the picture ( literally) . Please bring a vase ( I would suggest about 10-12" high)  and your camera and we will provide the rest. £40.00 a head to include delicious refreshments from the Eggs to Apples cafe.
